Dear Parents, Guardians and Students at BYMS,
Cell phones must be on silent, or turned off, and stored inside backpacks. Phones may only be accessed before and after school, outside of the school gates. Also, if a student requests to use the restroom during class, they must show the teacher that their cell phone is not leaving the classroom with them.
No wireless earpods are allowed on campus.
Earphones that are wired and plug into the laptop, may be used if needed for course work.
During class, students may NOT use their phones for calculators, to check the time, music, reading a book, checking their grades or for any other reason. If there is a medical reason to use a cell phone, that will be allowed per a 504 or health plan.
Just a few of the issues that have occurred in the last month that initiated BYMS administration to remind students of our school policy:
*Students taking videos and pictures of other students in the bathroom, and posting on social media (child pornography)
*Students are continually taking out their phones in P.E., recess area, and passing periods.
*Students taking pictures in the classroom of other students without permission and posting to social media.
The process if a phone is out during class: The teacher will send that student, with their phone, to the office immediately. No second chances. Administrators will call parents to retrieve the phone. It will not be given back to the student.

Estimados padres, tutores y estudiantes de BYMS,
Los teléfonos celulares deben estar en silencio y guardados dentro de las mochilas. Solo se puede acceder a los teléfonos antes y después de la escuela, fuera de las puertas de la escuela. Además, si un estudiante solicita usar el baño durante la clase, debe mostrarle al maestro que su teléfono celular no sale del salón de clases con él.
No se permiten audífonos inalámbricos en el campus.
Los auriculares que están cableados y se conectan a la computadora portátil pueden usarse si es necesario para el trabajo del curso.
Durante la clase, los estudiantes NO pueden usar sus teléfonos para calculadoras, para verificar la hora, música, leer un libro, verificar sus calificaciones o por cualquier otra razón. Si hay una razón médica para usar un teléfono celular, se permitirá según un plan 504 o de salud.
Solo algunos de los problemas que ocurrieron en el último mes que iniciaron la administración de BYMS para recordar a los estudiantes nuestra política escolar:
*Estudiantes tomando videos y fotos de otros estudiantes en el baño y publicando en Snapchat (pornografía infantil)
*Los estudiantes continuamente sacan sus teléfonos en educación física, área de recreo y períodos de transición.
*Estudiantes que toman fotografías en el salón de clases de otros estudiantes sin permiso y las publican en las redes sociales.
El proceso si un teléfono no funciona durante la clase: El maestro enviará a ese estudiante, con su teléfono, a la oficina de inmediato. Sin segundas oportunidades. Los administradores llamarán a los padres para recuperar el teléfono. No se devolverá al estudiante.
